New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate and president of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has won the tightly contested 2020 Presidential election.
He polled 6,730, 413 which is 51.59% of the total valid cast nationwide on December 7.
His closest contender, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 6, 214, 889 which gives him 47.36% of the total votes cast.
The Electoral Commissioner, Madam Jean Mensa who is the Returning Officer of the 2020 presidential election announced the results on Wednesday 9th December 2020.
She added that the results for Techiman South is outstanding as it is being contested.
However, she noted that even if all those votes are added to the ones obtained by former President John Dramani Mahama, it will not add up to the 50 plus 1 percent he needs to win the election.
This is the second defeat Former president John Dramani Mahama has suffered contesting his opponent.
